Abstract
The article illustrates present situation of educational environment, especially the education process during COVID-19, which, despite of huge challenges to the world economy, has its “positive influence” on educational process of the RA.
In the article there are presented the data of IMD digital competitiveness report, its pillars, which are the education, the technology and the future readiness. According to above mentioned report the leaders are the USA, the Singapore and the Sweden. Data about the three pillars of competitiveness of Armenia are missing, as Armenia is not an OECD member country. That is why, the appropriate information, to describe the Armenian situation, similar data were added from the reports of other international organizations.
In the article, briefly described the present situation of education of RA, existing challenges, as well as set parallels between “mandatory” distance-digitized and student-centered learning types. Here, the main barriers between learners and educators are the provision of technical-technological means and Lack of a culture of distance-digitized learning from the side of learners.
In terms of student-centered learning process one of the widespread platforms is the MOODLE platform, which was first piloted and then effectively implemented at ANAU. In that platform learners can find the learning materials, take test quizzes, be in touch with educators and so on. Today the IT department of ANAU, working on making ZOOM to work in accordance with the MOODLE platform, so that in future learners and educators can meet in MOODLE with video conference. Finally, it is assumed, that at present, Armenian educational system almost fully transformed to distance learning and for its effectiveness it will be needed to be fully provided by technical-technological means of education, as well as formatting the distance learning culture for learners.
