Abstract


This work is devoted to the problem of the impact of ash and slag waste storage sites of the enterprises of the fuel and energy complex on the environment. Storage of ash slag is accompanied by a number of extremely negative consequences for the environment and human health. In particular, in dry weather, the wind causes strong dusting of the ash and slag dump, with dust particles of different fractions being transferred to large areas and can reach settlements, creating a significant risk to public health. A number of formulas are given to estimate the emissions of ash particles into the atmosphere outside the sanitary protection zone of the ash and slag dump; solid particles blown from the surface of the ash-slag dump; surface concentration of dust particles at a distance from the dam, taking into account the background pollution; the initial concentration of dust particles to the east of the dam; the approximate width of the dust cloud, as well as the annual removal of ash particles or the erosion of the object.
