Abstract

Processes of increasing the area of the Ukrainian part of the Danube Delta, despite the reduction of water runoff and sediments along the Chilia course, is considered. A comparison of the Landsat space images for the period 1975-2020 showed an increase in land 797 ha in the area of the Ochakiv course, 1448 hectares between the Chilia and Sulina courses, and 1037 ha in the mouth of the Bystre course. There is a tendency to reduce the flooding of wetlands in the north of this region.
